Bad Omens Hits New Peaks with “Specter”

With a rapid climb in chart rankings, Bad Omens has notched another significant achievement. Their latest single, “Specter,” has ascended to the top position on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart dated October 18. This marks the track as the band’s quickest ascension to number one, a jump from the third spot in just eight weeks.

Contrasting their previous track, “Just Pretend,” which took a notable 27 weeks to reach the top in 2023, “Specter” achieves this milestone in significantly less time. Notably, “Just Pretend” still holds a record for one of the longest climbs in the chart’s 44-year history—ranking sixth overall.

Charting Success Across The Board

Bad Omens, originating from Richmond, Va., made their Mainstream Rock Airplay debut in 2020 with the track “Limits,” which peaked at number 19. They have since enjoyed escalating success with multiple tracks reaching the top 10, including “Like a Villain,” which peaked at number 10 in 2022.

Between “Just Pretend” and “Specter,” the band garnered additional chart success with “The Death of Peace of Mind,” and “V.A.N.,” a collaboration with Poppy, which peaked at No. 2 and No. 9 respectively.

Apart from its success on rock-specific charts, “Specter” also shows strong performance on broader platforms. It has climbed to number 15 on the Alternative Airplay chart and has reached an impressive No. 3 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, marking the highest position for Bad Omens with 4.1 million audience impressions.

The track has not only captivated radio audiences but also streamed impressively, marking its presence on the Hot Hard Rock Songs, where it ranked No. 2 in the most recent chart.

Recent Releases and Future Endeavors

Following the 2022 release of their album, The Death of Peace of Mind, Bad Omens continued to expand their discography with “Concrete Jungle” in 2024—a rich, guest-heavy album tied to a graphic novel. They have also recently introduced a new track “Impose” to their fans. While anticipation builds, a new album announcement remains forthcoming.
