Summer Walker Announces New Album Through Unique Lie Detector Test

On a surprising Wednesday, fans of Summer Walker were treated to a unique reveal of her third studio album, Finally Over It, set to hit the stores on November 14 under the banners of LVRN and Interscope Records. The announcement was made in an unconventional manner—through a lie detector test, which was shared on her YouTube channel.

The test included a variety of intriguing questions that not only pertained to her professional life but also touched upon personal details, making the reveal all the more engaging. Among the rapid-fire queries, she was asked about her past collaborator and the father of her daughter, London on Da Track, to which she decisively answered, “Absolutely not.” Questions about her current relationship status were also floated, though those answers were less conclusive.

During the polygraph, Walker excitedly confirmed that the album would feature over 12 tracks. She disclosed that Latto would be making a guest appearance, though she remained coy about other potential “rap girl” collaborators. The polygraph session also revisited her past successes, including her earlier albums, Over It and Still Over It, both of which soared to the number one spot on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, with the latter also topping the 200.

Walker also talked about her professional relationships and upcoming projects. When questioned about repeat collaborations from her previous albums, she affirmed with a simple “Yeah.” She hinted at a possible collaboration with Chris Brown in the future, responding with a “Maybe” when asked about the same. Fans can also look forward to another tour, following her recent performances opening for Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX.

The lie detector test was not just a promotional stunt but also a reflection of Walker’s openness and authenticity with her audience. She expressed her thoughts on award recognitions and shared her belief that her debut album, Over It, deserved a Grammy, despite her recent project, Clear 2: Soft Life, receiving a nomination.
