Vince Gill Signs Groundbreaking Lifetime Deal with MCA Records

Country music icon Vince Gill has inked a remarkable lifetime contract with MCA Records, signaling a promising future for both the artist and his fans. This unprecedented deal not only solidifies Gill’s enduring legacy but also guarantees a steady stream of new music, starting with a unique monthly EP release for the coming year.

Gill’s Ambitious New Music Rollout

Under the banner 50 Years From Home, Gill is set to unveil a blend of new tracks alongside beloved catalog music, beginning this venture on October 17 with the release titled 50 Years From Home: I Gave You Everything I Had. This first EP will feature the poignant “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” a song that has become a memorial service standard.

Gill expressed his enthusiasm about the deal, noting, “This period of my career is the most creative yet. I’ve amassed a collection of songs that, thanks to MCA, will soon be heard by all. After 36 years, our partnership remains a cornerstone of my music and life.”

A Longstanding Relationship with MCA

Gill’s relationship with MCA Records has been a major part of his stellar career, having been with them since the release of his double platinum-certified When I Call Your Name in 1989. Beyond his solo career, Gill has also contributed to the Eagles since 2017, stepping in after the passing of Glenn Frey.

Reflecting on the durability of this partnership, MCA president/CEO Mike Harris shared, “Vince has been a core member of the MCA family for decades. This lifetime agreement underscores our commitment to his artistry and his incredible musical output going forward.”

Vince’s manager, Larry Fitzgerald, added a personal touch by stating, “I’ve been with Vince for over four decades, and witnessing this commitment from MCA is truly a high point. It’s assurance that Vince’s music will always have a home at MCA, much to the delight of his fans.”

Gill’s Unmatched Achievements

With 22 Grammy Awards, Gill stands as the most awarded male country artist in Grammy history. His impressive career stats include 1.7 billion global streams and 28.5 million RIAA certified units.

Such lifetime contracts are rare in the music industry, with few artists like John Mellencamp receiving similar deals, which highlights the unique and esteemed position Gill holds.
