AXS Takes Major Step in Asian Market with SISTIC Acquisition

As part of its ambitious plans to grow its presence in Asia, AXS has secured a significant stake in SISTIC, marking a significant move into Singapore’s vibrant entertainment and ticketing industry. This strategic acquisition was publicized on October 8, highlighting the potential for growth in Southeast Asia’s dynamic markets.

Strategic Vision for Growth

Blaine Legere, president of international operations at AXS, emphasized the potential of the Southeast Asian market. “Singapore and Southeast Asia are burgeoning hubs for live entertainment. Merging SISTIC’s local insights with our advanced global technology will transform the way fans engage with live events,” he stated.

The Legacy and Impact of SISTIC

A key player for over three decades, SISTIC has significantly shaped Singapore’s live event landscape. Annually, the platform caters to over 300 event organizers and supports ticketing for more than 2,000 events across Singapore and neighboring regions like Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, with sales exceeding 6.5 million tickets each year.

Among its diverse portfolio, SISTIC has managed ticketing for prominent events such as the Hamilton musical, My Chemical Romance Live in Singapore, and international acts like Ed Sheeran and A.R. Rahman.

Comments from SISTIC’s Leadership

Joe Ow, the CEO of SISTIC, commented on the acquisition’s benefits. “This alliance not only signifies growth but also enhances our capabilities to meet evolving market demands without compromising our high standards of service,” he noted.

“By integrating slowly with AXS’s technology, we aim to maintain continuity and quality for our clients during this transition, enriching both the attendee and organizer experience,” Ow added.

Enhanced Cultural Engagement

The acquisition is set to bolster SISTIC’s involvement in the SG Culture Pass initiative, further promoting the arts and culture scene in Singapore. With the support of AXS, the collaboration aims to bring a richer variety of global events to the local audience, thereby enhancing Singapore’s status as a key player on the international entertainment stage.
