Breakaway Music Festival Expands Ownership with Industry Innovators
Breakaway, a prominent name in live entertainment, is entering a new chapter with the inclusion of Shaun Neff and Nick Gross into its ownership team, signaling a strategic expansion into broader music, media, and lifestyle horizons.
This pivotal development was shared on October 8, marking a significant stride following Breakaway’s record-breaking festival season in 2025, which saw the brand hosting events in 12 U.S. cities. This expansion has positioned Breakaway as the largest multi-city touring festival nationwide.
Earlier in the year, Breakaway had already begun diversifying its portfolio with the launch of Breakaway Projects, an initiative involving a record label and artist management focused on nurturing talents that resonate with Breakaway’s innovative essence.
Strategic Growth and Vision
“The integration of Shaun and Nick is a major boost to our ambitious projects,” remarked Adam Lynn, Breakaway’s co-founder and CEO. “Their expertise will be crucial as we aim to transcend the traditional boundaries of live events, creating new interactive formats and reaching audiences across diverse platforms.”
William Van Orsdel, Breakaway’s Chief Revenue Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the evolving brand, “Breakaway is transcending its origins as a mere festival to become a dynamic cultural movement. We’re thrilled about the vision and capabilities our new ownership group brings to our future endeavors.”
Meet the New Partners
Shaun Neff is renowned for his entrepreneurial spirit in the cultural sector, having founded Neff Headwear and later co-founding the Beach House Group. His ventures have included collaborations with celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Kevin Durant, and others, contributing to successful brands such as Moon Oral Care and Florence by Mills. Neff expressed his excitement about enhancing Breakaway’s impact, focusing on meaningful growth that strengthens community ties and cultural relevance.
Alongside Neff, Nick Gross brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at Gross Labs, which includes Big Noise music label and Noise Nest Studios. Gross, who has toured with notable artists such as Avril Lavigne, is driven by a mission to empower artists and fans alike, resonating deeply with Breakaway’s core values.
