The iconic rock band Oasis has been captivating audiences worldwide with their reunion tour, a spectacle that reminds us of their monumental impact on music. Amid this renewed fervor, an intimate exhibition in Los Angeles titled Oasis: Be Here Now offers fans a chance to see the band through a different perspective.

At the heart of this showcase are the early ’90s photographs by Kevin Cummins, a renowned photographer whose work has documented the rise of several rock legends. His collection not only covers pivotal moments but also the raw, unfiltered inception of Oasis when they were on the brink of stardom.

The exhibition kicks off on September 4 at the Musichead Gallery, located in the bustling heart of Hollywood. It promises a compelling narrative of the band’s rise, complemented by Cummins’ personal insights during an artist talk and book signing session. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition Oasis: Be Here Now poster, available only in 500 copies.

The photos featured in the exhibition were primarily taken following Oasis’s signing with Creation Records in 1993, just before the release of their debut album Definitely Maybe and the follow-up (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?. These images are a testament to the band’s formative years and their path to becoming rock icons.

Kevin Cummins, who has closely followed Oasis since their early days, released a photo book earlier in March called Oasis: The Masterplan, which includes many of the images now on display. His work captures the essence of a pivotal era in British music through poignant black and white imagery.

The city of Los Angeles is eagerly preparing for Oasis’s live performances, the first since 2008, adding to the anticipation around the exhibition. This display not only enhances the ongoing Oasis fever but also enriches the band’s narrative ahead of their upcoming concerts at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on September 6-7.

As Oasis continues their tour, moving from Chicago’s Soldier Field to East Rutherford and then Los Angeles, fans can expect a thrilling journey through the band’s history, both onstage and through Cummins’ lens in Los Angeles. The exhibition, running until early November, is a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the world of Oasis and rediscover their legacy as told by a master photographer.
