In a revealing conversation on the podcast Call Her Daddy, Kim Kardashian opened up about a professional decision she still questions today. The moment that stood out was a past photo shoot with pop star Justin Bieber, which, by today’s standards, might be considered contentious given Bieber’s age at the time—just 16 years old.

The shoot, which Kardashian participated in over a decade ago, took place on a picturesque beach in the Bahamas and was themed around the 1967 classic movie The Graduate. It featured the two celebrities in a series of intimate poses, such as holding hands and exchanging a cheek kiss, which may have been seen as controversial due to their age difference.

“I don’t know who approved this — or who thought this was normal, this narrative — but it was nothing creepy at all,” Kardashian explained. She further detailed that Bieber’s girlfriend and parents were on site, ensuring the situation remained professional and under supervision. “He’s a good dear friend of ours and the whole family, but, like, who thought that that was a good idea?” she questioned the judgment behind the shoot.

Kardashian, who was around 30 at the time of the shoot, expressed disbelief about how none of the involved parties, including herself, recognized the peculiar nature of the concept. She pondered, “I just think that was an odd concept, and why none of us thought that was odd at the time… but now I look back, and I’m like, ‘That would have not been the most appropriate thing.’”

Despite the years that have passed and the changing societal norms, Kardashian asserts that nothing inappropriate transpired during the shoot. This experience, among others, has influenced her perspective on public scrutiny and the concept of being ‘canceled.’
