Ozzy Osbourne & Black Sabbath “Back to the Beginning”: Soundtrack, Concert Film, Release Date and Tracklist

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning soundtrack and concert film will receive a worldwide home release on December 11, 2026. Mercury Studios will issue the document of Osbourne’s final performance and the original Black Sabbath lineup’s Villa Park reunion across digital, CD, 2LP vinyl, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD formats.

The release follows the film’s limited worldwide cinema engagement, which opened October 28. It preserves the July 5, 2025 Birmingham event that brought Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward back onstage together for the first time in more than 20 years.

December 11 release brings Back to the Beginning home

Mercury Studios has confirmed December 11, 2026 as the worldwide date for both the official live soundtrack and concert film. The standard package will be available digitally and physically on CD, double vinyl, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, according to Ozzy Osbourne’s official announcement.

Before the home-format rollout, Back to the Beginning opened in cinemas worldwide on October 28 as a limited event release. Mercury Studios produced the film, while Trafalgar Releasing handled its theatrical distribution, as detailed in the earlier Mercury Studios announcement.

The December edition makes the concert accessible beyond that one-off theatrical run, though it is not the most exhaustive version planned. A substantially expanded Deluxe Box Set is scheduled to follow in April 2027.

Ozzy Osbourne’s final set and Black Sabbath’s Villa Park reunion

The film centers on the July 5, 2025 concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park, billed as Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance. It also captures the original Black Sabbath quartet—Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward—performing together for the first time in more than two decades.

The available soundtrack sequence moves from Osbourne’s solo catalog into the Black Sabbath songs associated with the reunion.

The nine-song digital soundtrack tracklist

The confirmed digital live soundtrack contains nine performances. Its first five selections are Osbourne solo staples, followed by four Black Sabbath tracks:

  1. “I Don’t Know”
  2. “Mr. Crowley”
  3. “Suicide Solution”
  4. “Mama, I’m Coming Home”
  5. “Crazy Train”
  6. “War Pigs”
  7. “N.I.B.”
  8. “Iron Man”
  9. “Paranoid”

The official tracklist is not a full representation of every performance from the event; the nine-song digital edition instead concentrates on the Osbourne and Sabbath material at the center of the night.

Guest performances and the expanded April box set

The cinema cut runs approximately two hours and 30 minutes and includes guest performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Slayer, Tool, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Gojira, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Mastodon and Rival Sons. The guest roster was confirmed when tickets went on sale for the theatrical presentation, in a September SRO PR release.

Those appearances distinguish the theatrical film from the standard soundtrack. The April 23, 2027 Deluxe Box Set is positioned as the complete performance document, with Mercury Studios saying it will include an expanded concert film, all 35 performances and guest covers on a bonus Blu-ray.

The box will also contain a two-CD soundtrack, three LPs, a 72-page book, a pendant necklace and a numbered certificate. For viewers looking for the Villa Park event in its fullest announced form—not solely Osbourne’s set and the Sabbath reunion—the April package is the edition to watch.
