Role Model Secures First No. 1 with ‘Sally, When the Wine Runs Out’
A Chart-Topping Debut for Role Model
Emerging artist Role Model, the stage name of Tucker Pillsbury, has achieved his premiere position atop the Adult Alternative Airplay chart with his hit single “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” The track surged to the number one spot in the chart dated September 13, marking a significant milestone in his music career.
Role Model’s Rapid Rise
This achievement on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart is not Pillsbury’s first encounter with chart success. His vibrant career saw a previous high when he topped the Emerging Artists chart back in August. Achieving such success with his initial entry on the Adult Alternative chart makes him the first artist to attain this since TALK with “Run Away to Mars” earlier in 2023.
Beyond its success on Adult Alternative Airplay, “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” has also climbed the Alternative Airplay chart, reaching a new peak at number three, and ascended to number seven on the comprehensive Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, capturing a significant 2.6 million audience impressions in the process.
Broader Chart Impact
Role Model’s track has not only impacted rock and alternative radio but has also made waves in more mainstream channels. It peaked at number 25 on the Pop Airplay chart and number 31 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. On the multimetric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, it improved its standing by moving from 19th to 17th place.
The song’s popularity was further bolstered by digital sales, with a notable 298% increase after a performance on NBC’s Today show, leading to a number one re-entry on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart.
Album Success and Upcoming Charts
Role Model’s single comes from his album Kansas Anymore, which debuted on the Top Alternative Albums chart and eventually rose to the 10th position. Since its release in 2024, it has accumulated 282,000 equivalent album units.
All charts mentioned, including the one dated September 13, will be updated and available on the forthcoming Tuesday, September 9.
