Rush Embarks on a Nostalgic Journey with the “Fifty Something” Tour in 2026

After over a decade away from the limelight, the members of the legendary rock band Rush, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, are reuniting for a unique tour. This series of concerts, named the “Fifty Something” tour, not only celebrates over five decades of Rush’s music but also honors the memory of their beloved drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020 due to glioblastoma.

The tour is set to start with a bang at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 7, 2026, promising a series of 12 memorable performances across North America. Each event is planned as an “evening with” experience, featuring two distinct sets overflowing with 35 of Rush’s most beloved tracks.

Introducing Anika Nilles

In an exciting twist to their lineup, Rush will be joined by the talented German drummer Anika Nilles. Known for her work with iconic musicians like Jeff Beck and her own solo projects, Nilles is set to bring a fresh dynamic to the band’s classic sound. Geddy Lee expressed his enthusiasm for introducing Nilles to Rush’s dedicated fanbase, highlighting her exceptional skills and the new energy she is expected to bring to the performances.

New Developments in Band Dynamics

The upcoming tour also signifies a shift in the band’s traditional setup. To enhance their sound and stage dynamics, Rush plans to expand their lineup further, potentially adding more musicians. This change aims to diversify their performances and provide fans with a unique concert experience, different from the power trio format they have famously adhered to for years.

Exclusive Pre-Sale Opportunity

Fans eager to secure their spots at these limited shows can participate in an exclusive pre-sale by signing up here. The pre-sale offers early access to tickets, ensuring devotees won’t miss the chance to witness this monumental tour.

Rush’s return not only revives the group’s rich catalogue of intricate music and profound lyrics but also serves as a heartfelt tribute to Neil Peart. His lyrical genius and unmatched skills as a drummer left an indelible mark on the music world, shaping the band’s identity and the rock genre at large.

Support from Peart’s Family

Neil Peart’s wife, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and daughter, Olivia, have expressed their support for the “Fifty Something” tour. They shared their excitement and pride in seeing Rush celebrate Neil’s legacy and continue his storytelling through their classic tracks on this new venture.

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have both highlighted how revisiting Rush’s music has rekindled their passion for performing, sharing that preparations for the tour have been both intensive and inspiring. This series of concerts promises to be a nostalgic journey, not just for the band but for the fans as well, celebrating the timeless music and enduring spirit of Rush.
