Peermusic, a leading figure in the global music publishing scene, has officially acquired Chacín’s extensive song catalog, as confirmed. This strategic acquisition coincides with Chacín’s renewal of his publishing deal, ensuring a continued partnership that promises to nurture and promote his musical creations globally.

Expressing his satisfaction with this new chapter, Chacín shared, “I feel great that my work now has a permanent trusted home in Peermusic. My songs are like my children, and I see the way that Peermusic looks after their heirs. I know my catalog will be in good hands with Julio and the team at Peermusic.”

Chacín’s Musical Contributions and Achievements

The journey of Jorge Luis Chacín in the music industry is marked by significant milestones. In 2004, he co-founded the group Bachá, alongside Juliana Barrios. Their self-titled debut album caught the attention of the Latin music world and garnered a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Tropical Album in 2005. Chacín’s solo career flourished thereafter with albums like Tengo (2011), El Color de Mi Locura (2014), and Alegría (2022). His songwriting prowess has been recognized by top artists, including Thalia, Ricardo Montaner, and David Bisbal, who have recorded his compositions.

Julio Bagué, VP of the Latin Division at Peermusic, highlighted Chacín’s exceptional talent: “Jorge was one of the first writers that caught my attention when I began at Peermusic. The moment I heard Jorge’s music, I recognized a wealth of incredible talent and versatility that could travel through Latin America and the U.S market.”

Not resting on his laurels, Chacín continues to innovate in the music industry. His recent works include “Cartera Chinas,” recorded by Elena Rose, Camilo, and Los Ángeles Azules, and co-writing Christian Alicea’s “Hello What’s Up,” a chart-topper on Tropical Airplay. Currently, Chacín is in the process of producing a new album scheduled for release later this year.
